The human body is the entire structure of a human organism. Human body is like animal body which consist of organs, tissues and cells. By the time the human reaches adulthood, the body consists of close to 100 trillion cells which is the basic unit of life. These cells are organised biologically to eventually form the whole body. There are 11 organ systems of the body, include the musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular system, digestive system, endocrine system, integumentary system, urinary system, lymphatic system, immune system, respiratory system, nervous system and reproductive system. Each system has different function and duty, but it have to cooperate and connect each other to support human life. Human body comprises a head, neck, torso, two arms and two legs. Every people have same body anatomy but they have different shape of their body. The height is largely determined by genes from their family and food which they eat. While body type and composition are influenced by factors such as genetics, diet, and exercise. Human body is actually a living machine and it is like all other machines. This living machine needs fuel to supply it with energy. The fuel is provided by the food which we eat. However do we know how much we need to stay healthy? The energy value of food is usually measured in calories. A calorie is the amount of heat which is required to raise the temperature of 1 kg of water by 1 degree C. The number of calories which people need per day varies. It depends on the activity which the people are involved in. For example: people will need more calories for standing than for sitting, people need more for running than for walking, etc. The energy which is provided by food is in the form of three kinds of chemical substances. They are carbohydrate, protein and fat. Carbohydrate provides 8.8 calories per gram (cal/gm) of energy, protein 4.0 cal/gm and fat 8.0 cal/gm. Each food contains different proportion of these substances. These three chemical substances are all important for body staying healthy. Every human have their own body which is complicated and irregularly well arranged. God has given us the good body, thus we have to be grateful. We have to use our body like it should be, and keep it healthy like a suitable human being.
