    ELLY THE ELEPHANT

    LISTENING AND SPEAKING

    - Set Induction - Teacher shows the picture of a book cover. - Pupils name the picture. - Teacher stress on the sound /e/ - Pupils walk like an elephant and say eh - Get pupils to do the action say /e/ and write e in the air. - Demonstrate how to sound it out.

    Step 1 - Tell the pupils the story of Elly The Elephant(Appendix 2) - Point to the pictures while telling the story. - Get pupils to say the words.

    Step 2 Distribute word cards to pupils. Tell the story again. Get pupils to show the word cards when they hear their words. Other pupils do the action for /e/.
