HOW TO MEASURE A HEATING VESSEL

THE FOLLOWING DATA HAVE TO BE KNOWN: 1. THE WHOLE VOLUME OF WATER OF THE PLANT INTO WHICH THE EXPANSION VESSEL HAS TO BE INSTALLED 2. MINIMAL AND MAXIMAL WORKING TEMPERATURES 3. THE VESSEL'S PRE-CHARGE PRESSURE 4. THE CALIBRATION PRESSURE OF THE SAFETY VALVE 5. THE POSSIBLE DIFFERENCE IN LEVEL (IN METERS) BETWEEN THE POSITION OF THE SAFETY VALVE AND THE POSITION OF THE VESSEL. TYPE A POSITIVE LEVEL IF THE VALVE IS HIGHER THAN THE VESSEL, TYPE A NEGATIVE LEVEL IF THE VALVE IS LOWER.

THIS MEASURING IS VALID ONLY IF THE PRESSURE ON THE EXPANSION VESSEL IS NOT SUPERIOR TO THE PRECHARGE PRESSURE. PLAESE CONSIDER THAT A 10 METER WATER COLUMN MAKES A PRESSURE OF ONE BAR, AT SEA LEVEL. THE PRESSURE OF THE SAFETY VALVE, ADDED TO THE PRESSURE OF THE POSSIBLE DIFFERENCE IN LEVEL, MUST BE INFERIOR TO THE MAXIMAL WORKING PRESSURE OF THE VESSEL.
