ECOTOURISM

Nature has generously blessed our country with a beautiful blend of snowcapped mountains and lush green forests, of deserts and deep oceans. This varied bio-diversity of our country along with the rich history and cultural heritage needs to be preserved for next generations. Ecotourism is a form of tourism which has evolved to educate the travellers and provide funds for ecological conservation, which directly benefits the economic development of the nation. There are many fragile, pristine undisturbed areas which need to be preserved. With an emphasis on environmental awareness, ecotourism promotes greater understanding and appreciation for nature, local society, and culture. An integral part of ecotourism is promotion of recycling, energy efficiency, water conservation and creating opportunities for local communities. These methods help in creating awareness and encourage travellers to conserve nature. ECOTOURISM needs to be encouraged even more but also in the right sense. There should be resorts affiliated with ecotourism which are designed by sustainable methods of construction which attract the tourists as well as make them aware about this cause.
