Our Lords Table: Discerning the Body of Christ Invitation to the Table wThe Great Thanksgiving
One: All: One: All: One: All: One: God be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. (standing) We lift them to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give God our thanks and praise. It is truly right and our greatest joy to give you thanks and praise, O Lord our God, creator and ruler of the universe. All: You are the Lord of heaven and earth, maker of all things, and we are your children, by the grace of Jesus Christ. In you, O God, we live and move and have our being. (Acts 17:22-31) One: You ride upon the clouds, awesome in majesty and power, pouring out your mercy on the parched places of the earth, and showering down blessings upon those who are in need. (Psalm 68) Therefore we praise you, joining our voices with choirs of angels with prophets, apostles, and martyrs, and with all the faithful of every time and place who forever sing to the glory of your name: All: Holy, holy, holy! Lord God strong and tender; heaven and earth are full of your glory. Help us, God Most High. Blessed is the One who comes in the name of the Lord. (Sit) One: You are holy, O God of majesty, and blessed is Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord. All: To Christ you gave all honor and power and glory, and through him you give us the gift of eternal life. We belong to Christ, and in Christ, we belong to you. (John 17:1-11) One: Remembering your gracious acts in Jesus Christ, we take from your creation this bread and this wine and joyfully celebrate his dying and rising, as we await the day of his coming. With thanksgiving, we offer our very selves to you to be a living and holy sacrifice, dedicated to your service. Great is the mystery of faith: All: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.

One: Gracious God, pour out your Holy Spirit upon us and upon these your gifts of bread and wine, that the bread we break and the cup we bless may be the communion of the body and blood of Christ. By your Spirit, make us one with Christ and with your church in all the world. All: Help us to seek what is good in your sight, with gentleness and reverence, and a clear conscience, proclaiming our hope in Christ the Lord. (1 Pet. 3:13-22) One: Teach us to cast all our anxiety on you, for you care for us. Give us the discipline and strength to resist what is evil, so that we may shout with joy when Christs glory is revealed. (1 Pet. 4:12-14; 5:6-11) All: Through Christ, with Christ, in Christ, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor are yours, almighty God, now and forever. Amen.

Leesburg Food Bank Our May Missions Partner

One long-time local missions partner is the Leesburg Food Bank, 1305 Sunshine Ave., Leesburg. It is a Florida non-profit organization in operation since the 1970's. The Banks Mission is To provide a ministry which links church and community resources with those who are in need. These resources include food and clothing. The Food bank seeks to feed, clothe, and help in any way possibleto the extent resources are available Photo: B. Roode/Daily Commercial anyone who asks for help. During the year we provide continuing assistance with our gifts of non-perishable foods and clothing. This month we have the opportunity to boost our participation by providing cash donations which will be put to use acquiring other foods (such as meat, milk, bread, and other perishables) for distribution and for providing other forms of assistance. Any all-volunteer organization is also in need of helping hands to come in and provide onsite assistance, doing all those jobs needed to keep the operation going. If you have a few hours, your time and presence would be as welcome as your cash and food donations. As you consider ways you can assist our effort this month in support of the Food Bank, please consider: If you can donate some time each week or month. If you have good used clothing to donate. If you can increase your donation of canned food and non-perishables. How much you can provide this month as a cash donation which will multiply 9 times! Make your check to PUCC but mark the envelope or memo line Leesburg Food Bank or May Missions.
