An automatic transmission for heavy duty trucks and buses has

been developed .

Automatically controlled dry clutch and synchromesh gear transmission make driving easier , while maintaining fuel

efficiency of a mechanical transmission

The system consideration and design philosophies of the electronic controller are described here, as well as the mechanical hardware for conversion of a manual transmission into a fully automatic transmission
