DRAFTING IN PRO-E

Drafting :Drafting is a Documentation of the Modeling. In Drawing mode, you can create customized documentation for the component process. Views of each step can be placed, component display controlled based on their status in the step, and report tables (BOM)created using Pro/REPORT.

Drafting Module :-

Go to / New / Drawing / Browse the model / Specify Template / Select Orientation / Select Paper size / ok

HOW TO START DRAFTING

BROWSE PERTICULAR PART.

Inserting Views : Insert the General View first click on general view in the above ribbon/specify the point in the screen/set the options in the dialog box

Right click/ Generalview/select point for creating view.

Drafting is having 2 types of file extension.


DRW:- to save a drafting file and DTL:- to control the drafting environment. File/drawing option/set various factors. E.g. 1) View display- follow environment/no hidden/ hidden etc. 2) Angle of projection 1st or 3rd. 3) Text height etc.

Drawing options: Go to / File / Drawing options / Control the model display for new view using Follow Environment option. And set the decimal marker to period(.) using miscellaneous options.

Inserting other views: Projection view(shows projected planes) Detail view(shows detail section) Auxiliary view(shows section from aux.plane) Revolved view(only for revolve feature) Go to Layout Tab and select the views that you want. e.g. Projection view---click on projection view/ select the general view/click on the side to create view.

Insert projection view from general view. Select GV/R-click/projection view.


Create all types of projection view like front/ top/right just by clicking on the screen.

Dimensioning the views: Go to/Annotate tab/Show model Annotations/select view/than set the dimensions. Go to /quick dimension/select the line and press mid button of mouse

Adding Note to the views:-

In Annotate tab click on add note button/select the choices from menu manager/click on make note/select edges in the views where you want to create note/enter the desired note/click done.
