Report on Selected Topic

Students will be given 8 discussion questions. For each discussion question, students have to relate their personal opinion by responding to the topic. Students also need to respond to FOUR comments given by other students in the forum. 5 marks will be awarded to each student if he or she posts a response to the topic and to the comments given by other students. 5 marks x 8 discussion questions = 40 marks Students are to produce a report on any of the following topics: - Minimal pairs, homophones and homonyms, affixes, synonyms and antonyms, hyponyms, nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, articles, prepositions, connotative and denotative meaning, metaphors. The report should be 4 pages in length (not including the cover page and reference page) Arial 12 font size and 1.5 spacing The report should contain the following: - Cover Page - Content Page - Introduction - Description and explanation about the topic - Conclusion - Sample exercises on related topic (20 practice questions) - Reference (at least 5 references from several sources like books, the internet) - DEADLINE WEEK 7 7th APRIL 2013

Synthesis Paper

Students have to prepare a synthesis paper at the conclusion of the course discussing ones knowledge, understanding, analysis of your experiences or reflection on the content of the course.

The paper should be about 4 pages in length (not including the cover page and reference page). Arial 12 font size and 1.5 spacing. The report should contain the following: - Cover Page - Introduction - Reflection on parts of the module that you find interesting and have enriched your knowledge of the English Language. You should also reflect on the knowledge that you find useful as an ESL teacher. - Conclusion - Reference (at least 5 references from several sources like books, the internet) - DEADLINE WEEK 10 28th APRIL 2013

Final Examination ( 2 hours)
