Job Description, Duties and Responsibilities

Communications Strategy Group (CSG) is currently seeking a public relations intern for our Health & Wellness practice for spring 2014. CSGs internships provide a rich opportunity to learn about PR, media relations and overall communications strategy. The perfect applicant will have the ability to execute a variety of tasks, owning all projects from start to finish. An interest in health and wellness is helpful, writing skills and an attention to detail are critical. We also prefer our candidates be personable, organized and self-motivated. We desire a listener who is intuitive, confident and willing to jump into assignments with enthusiasm and dedication. Because this practice works in a variety of health-focused areas, the ability to tactfully handle sensitive client subject matter is vital. Functionally, our intern will have a variety of opportunities: writing articles, blog posts and other copy; conducting research; pitching the media; tracking press hits; assisting with social media campaigns; brainstorming story ideas and assisting with miscellaneous office tasks and client deliverables. Knowledge of Associated Press style, digital writing experience writing and an understanding of SEO is preferred, but not necessary. The experience should be challenging, rewarding and fun. We are looking for recent college graduates or students entering their junior or senior year pursuing a bachelors degree in communications, public relations, marketing or other applicable studies. The internship timeline is part time through May 2014. The number of hours each week is flexible, however we would like an intern to be able to commit anywhere from 10 to 16 hours per week.
