Purpose: To ensure the proper operation of High Speed Centrifuge. Scope : The SOP is applicable for the operation of centrifuge machine. Responsibility HOD Quality QC Chemist Definition: Procedure: 1. Press the MAINS to put ON the centrifuge and the timer will start blinking indicating 00. 2. In this mode the centrifuge can be started and used by passing the timer i.e. ON without timer. 3. For using centrifuge in time mode press the SET TIME switch. 4. Desired time can now be selected by pressing SET TIME switch again. 5. The centrifuge is now ready to operate in time mode. 6. Put sample in two bucket. 7. Fit the loaded buckets to the rotor; always distribute them symmetrically around the rotor axies otherwise destructive vibration occurs. 8. Now set the rotation speed & time as required. 9. After set time when alarm gets ON the rotor will automatically switch off. Put off the buckets when rotor stopped. Precautions: 1. Always ensure that the speed control is set to Zero Position before the centrifuge is connected to the power supply and after each centrifugical run. 2. Always connect the centrifuge three pin power plug to a suitable three pin 230V AC power Socket having proper earthing.
