1) v-4(4-v)= -2(2y-1)

first take -4 into the parentheses by multiplying and -2 the same way onto the parentheses on
the right side

so
v = -4(4) -4(-v) =-2(2y) -2(-1)
we get
v – 16+4v = -4y +2
so adding like terms we get on the left side we get
5v -16 = -4y +2
Add 16 on both sides we get
5v -16+16 = -4y +2+16
5v = -4y+18
So 5v +4y = 18

Or v = (-4y+18)/5

2) 2) v-4(4-v)= -2(2y-1)
first take -4 into the parentheses by multiplying and -2 the same way onto the parentheses on
the right side

so
v = -4(4) -4(-v) =-2(2y) -2(-1)
we get
v – 16+4v = -4y +2
so adding like terms we get on the left side we get
5v -16 = -4y +2
Add 16 on both sides we get
5v -16+16 = -4y +2+16
5v = -4y+18
So 5v +4y = 18

Or v = (-4y+18)/5

3) 0.5b+3.4=0.2b+12.4
Add -3.4 on both sides we get
0.5b +3.4 -3.4 = 0.2b +12.4 -3.4

So this equals
0.5b on the right side
And 0.2b+9 on the left sides
So 0.5b = 0.2b +9

Add -0.2b on both sides we get

0.5b-0.2b = 9
So 0.3b = 9
Multiply both sides by 0.3

So b = 9/0.3 = 30
B= 30
