AMC GRAND CHIEF WELCOMES THE


INDIGENOUS LAND TITLE EXPRESS ON IT'S WAY TO OTTAWA WHERE
THE SUPREME COURT OF CANADA WILL HEAR AN APPEAL ON TITLE
TO LAND IN THE TSILHQOT'IN B.C., TERRITORY

A delegate of Elders and Youth from the Tsilhqot'in First Nation in BC will be in Winnipeg on
Saturday, November 2, 2013 on their way to attend a Supreme Court of Canada appeal hearing on
November 7, 2013. The Supreme Court of Canada will hear the appeal of the Tsilhqot'in Nation's
historic Aboriginal title case.
In order to honour the many Elders that testified at the BC Supreme Court trial, especially those
who have passed on, the journey to Ottawa began from Tsilhqot'in homelands.

Media are invited to meet the INDIGENOUS LAND TITLE EXPRESS and their delegates of
Chiefs on Saturday, November 2, 2013 (9am) at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel (2935 Pembina
Highway) in Winnipeg where Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs Grand Chief, Derek Nepinak, will meet
them for breakfast and see them off as they continue their journey through Treaty 1 Territory.
Grand Chief Nepinak joined by Chief Roger Williams, Grand Chief Stewart Phillip and Chief Bob
Chamberlin will be available to speak to media at 9am.
