Troop 57 Holiday Service Project 2013 PDF
Collect items for our deployed soldiers, pack them into care packages, then ship them to our soldiers away from home during the holidays.
Troop 57 Scouts and parents: Over the next few weeks, we ask that you collect the following items for our soldiers that are currently deployed overseas and will be away from their families during the holidays: Body wash, deodorants, toothpaste and brushes, beef jerky, granola bars, paperback books, dvds, cds, and magazines, puzzle books, hot chocolate, gum, trail mix and peanuts in small packages, travel size baby wipes packages, hand sanitizer, wisp disposable toothbrushes, dental floss, small memo pads, yoyos, beach balls ( don't blow up!), card games, and ziplock bags ( all sizes.) This will be Troop 57s official holiday service project, and we encourage all Scouts to participate. There will be a collection drop box located at Holy Cross Lutheran Church specifically for these items. Please consider placing a collection box at your familys place of worship, at your office, or any secure highly-visible area. (Be sure to obtain permission first!) Once all items have been collected, the Scouts will get together at HCLC and have a packing party. We have scheduled this for Sunday, December 1st, from 2:00p. to 4:00p. We will need lots of hands to help pack boxes and are also in need of scotch tape, packing tape, ziplock bags, and art supplies for a card making station.
