Book Summary
In A Lion to Guard Us, by Clyde Robert Bulla, three siblings are left behind in London while their father ventures to the New World. Amanda, Jemmy, and Meg are forced to decide to leave their home and travel to America alone when their mother dies of disease. Taking along the lion door knocker their father left behind to watch over them, the three children board a ship and travel across the Atlantic in search of their father. during their journey falls overboard and once again the children are left alone. The ship becomes stranded on the island of the Barbados and must figure how to survive along with the other passengers aboard. To make matters worse, the lion door knocker is stolen from them and Jemmy must steal it back.
