And after some persuasive drops on the wood, the 3-4 hub comes off as does 3rd gear

Once you have the 3-4 hub and 3rd gear off youll need to remove the washer that goes on the side away from the engagement teeth on the 3rd gear needle bearings, that is if it didnt come off at the same time you drove the 3-4 hub off.
