First, we will have Dr. Battista come in and read a book about nutrition to the kids. She then will explain nutrition and how it is important for them as 1 st-4th graders, and how it will be important for them in college. Dr. Battista will be the one introducing the activity/ getting the kids accustomed and familiar with what they will be doing for the rest of activity. After we have thanked Dr. Battista for contributing and explaining and addressing the college question of the week, we will divide the kids into two groups. 1st and 2nd grade will be together, and 3rd and 4th grade will be together. There will be two stations. One will be nutrition jeopardy. The kids will face off (i.e. 1st vs. 2nd grade) and the GM will be leading the powerpoint jeopardy game. The game will be in jeopardy format, and one GM will pick a question voted upon by the kids, read it aloud, and then, after the kids talk about an answer,

will pick the kid with their hand raised who is being quiet to answer. Points will be tallied, and there will be a winning team after so many questions. Questions will challenge kids, and will be tied into what Dr. Battista has talked about previously. Simultaneously, the other two grades will be across the room at another station. This station is the food tasting station. There will be 3-4 different foods at this station, cut into individual bite size pieces. 2-3 that are unusual, and 1 that is familiar. The kids will compare the new foods with the food that they know. While the kids are tasting the individual foods, there will be notecards associated with said food, explaining nutritional value, what the food can be cooked into, and other various facts about the food, that the GM can read while the kids are tasting this food. This notecard/ tasting will be done with each of the foods. The stations will last approximately 20 minutes apiece, and there will be time included for switching between stations. After 20 minutes, groups will switch to the other stations. 5:40-5:55 5:55-6:00 Journal time Pack up; VP dismisses LBs by buddy family to buses
