PROTOCOL FOR EXHAUSTER CONNECTION (UNDER SCOPE OF DSP/MICCO)

After charging of first 16 ovens and before exhauster connection another 4 ovens are to be charged (204, 274,209. 269, ) During this period, all the ovens can be connected with GC Mains at both side & the first 16 ovens which were charged prior to gas purging can also be connected with both side of GC Mains. Clearance for exhauster connection will be given only after ensuring O2 content<1% in samples taken from both battery & by-product side. The blank between Battery & By product should be preferably removed prior to gas purging. The gate valves at the end of cross over mains will be kept closed till clearance for exhauster connection is given. 4 nos. of U tube manometers are to be installed (one no. in each G.C. main). Open the gate valve at the end of suction mains by approximately 20%. Men should be positioned near Suction main gate valves and at each manometer before & during exhauster connection. Maintain a G.C. Main pressure in the range of 15 mm wc by operating the suction main gate valves as per requirement. In no point of time GC main pressure should be negative. Return ETP is to be kept switched off.
