Medical care both in the USA and the UK is highly developed and advanced.

The US has the greatest

disparity in the quality of care given to richer and poorer citizens. Funds for health research are supplied by state governments and nonprofit organizations, and are primarly invested in the areas of cancer, heart disease and AIDS. However the USA is the only major industrialized country without government funded health care program. Therefore, at present about 60 millions of Americans have no or inadequate medical insurance. Besides some doctors have even quit their medical practice because of the high cost of malpractice insurance. By comparison The UK has a governmentsponsored universal healthcare system called the National Health Service (NHS). Medical care and pensions are provided to those who might otherwise starve or be homeless. The advantage is that any person who is permanently resident in the UK can have the services of a doctor or treatment in a hospital and it is free of charge. Even a visitor may have same free medical services in case of emergency or accident. And yet there is the disadvantage that sometimes patients have to wait many months, even years for less urgent treatment. This way some people choose to pay for all their treatment although they have paid compulsory National Insurance.

The system of education from the UK or the USA differs from that of Moldova. But there are some similarities in the school system that includes two stages- primary and secondary. In the USA children learn 6 years in grammar school, 3 years in junior high school and 3 years of senior high school. In contrast, in the UK schools are divided into infant (ages 5-7) and junior (ages 7-11/12). Another difference between the UK, the USA and Moldova is that there are two types of schools: state schools which are free of charge and private schools which are paid for, as in Moldova both state and private schools are paid for. Both in the UK and Moldova students can go to a college at the age of 16, while in the USA colleges are institutions of higher education. Also in the UK and Moldova students have to study only 3 years and then proceed to a Bachelors degree, a Masters degree or Doctors degree., as for the USA universities have 4 years programs. In the USA education costs less in public institutions than in private ones, especially for liberal arts education.
