Analysis of The Cabs tour poster

The artwork used for this poster is a lot different to the artwork Ive already looked at as this has more of a gentle feel. The floral patterns with the serene grey colour strays far from the rebellious representations many bands have been trying to get across. The artwork links to the Whisper War album artwork which features a photo of a girl listening to a cup phone. Everything about the girl is the same except instead of a photo shes drawn in with simple graphics; mainly using block colours. The way that the girl is looking down and is surrounded by emptiness could convey a solitude or loneliness theme of the music. The poster also links to the album artwork in the sense that the album shows a lot of wallpaper, and the floral patterns makes the poster look very similar to wallpaper.

Something I like about the poster is how the girl is very slightly to the right and unbalances the otherwise perfectly centred image. I think this slight change in composition (in comparison to the centred album cover) makes it a lot more interesting. I think that this album is aimed at an older audience than most of their other albums due to the olden and serene artwork. Their more disturbing or alternative album artwork seems to be aimed at a younger, more rebellious audience. Older teens to young adults.
