Maximum Marks : 70 Min. Passing Marks : 21 Note : 1. The paper is divided into three parts i.e. Part A, Part-B and Part-C 2. Part-A Contains 10 question and carry one mark each. 3. Part-B contains 5 questions. Each question carries 6 marks. 4. Parts-C contains 4 questions. Attempt any two questions & carries 15 marks each.
PART-A 1. a) Enumerate the types of Spring. b) What do you mean by modulus of Rigidity. c) What is Flexural Formula. d) State Hookes law. e) Explain Principal Plane & Principal Stress. f) Explain the Volumatric Strain. g) Write down Limitation of Eulers Formula. h) What is Shear force & Bending moment. i) What is polar moment of inertia. j) Define radius of curvature.
PART-B 2. Write down the theory of simple bending. OR Derive the Equation for Torsion of Shaft. q/r = T/J = NO/L

Write units of bending moment ,twisting angle, slope & modulus of elasticity in S.I. units. OR Explain parallel Axis theorem. 6. Derive Eulers formulae for column if one end fixed & other end free. OR Find out Reaction of beam at end A & end B.
PART-C 7. Explain the method of Failure of a Short column and a long column.
8. Explain proof stress, yield strength & ultimate strength with help of stress-strain curve for ductile material.
