Nursing management:

Educate the client to avoid activities or habits that precipitate angina (eating large meals, drinking coffee, smoking, strenuous exercise, going out to cold weather and stress) Explain the importance of daily management of hypertension. Advise the client to take daily medication even if no clinical manifestations are evident Encourage and help plan a regular program of daily exercise to promote improved coronary circulation and weight management Instruct to quit smoking, because it raises carboxyhemoglobin levels in the blood, which reduces the amount of oxygen in the myocardium. Urge overweight clients to lose excess weight. Weight reduction may also reduce blood pressure, cholesterol level, and the incidence of adult onset diabetes. Encourage them to eat small meals, avoid high calories and high cholesterol diets, and abstain from gas forming foods. Diets high in fibers may also help lower serum cholesterol and triglyceride levels and may decrease hypertension Help client who leads an active, hectic life to adjust activities to a level below that precipitates anginal attacks Relaxation techniques may also be use.
