Pi Kappa Alpha & Toys R Us Present: Pikes Presents

What it is: The main goal of Pikes presents is to raise money to purchase gifts to give to the young children of the Carver Lyon School in Columbia. The children who attend this school are deprived of Christmas gifts, something that the Pi Kappa Alpha Xi chapter hopes to change. We hope that in collaboration with Toys R Us we will be able to make some of these kids wishes come true.

How it would work: The idea is that each sorority can enter a team for a $50 fee with both representatives getting a free Pikes Presents T-Shirt (Proof is attached). Then the teams of two girls, representing their sororities, are escorted to Toys R Us by a Pike brother. Every team will be given about 5-10 minutes to find the best compilation of presents, not exceeding a cost of $200. Seeing as there is a 20% discount on all goods, the real spending limit is $250. The sorority that accumulates the best cart is given a free party with us. Each sorority will be responsible for purchasing the toys in their cart upon finish and donating them to our cause. If a team finishes and gets to the check out counter before the time limit is up then they automatically win and play is stopped on the spot. The list will contain no more than $200 worth of items. There will hopefully be at least 10-15 sororities represented. What we are asking of Sororities: We ask that you send two representatives to shop til they drop. However, you can enter up to 4 teams of two. The event will take place on Wednesday, November 20th around 9pm. This way we can create a hectic, shop till you drop type atmosphere as the store will be basically empty. Hopefully your sorority finishes first!

Rules: Toys R Us main concern was safety of the people in the store, so the first time any team is caught running they will be warned. The second time will result in

disqualification (in the event of this happening sororities will still be held responsible for the items in their baskets). When the time buzzer goes off the teams must proceed to the register right away.

T-Shirts: We will make the Pikes presents T-Shirt available to all sorority girls who would like to buy them. We will be selling them for $22 and donating 18% of that to the presents fund as well.

In Closing: We hope that sororities will come out and participate in this event, like our fraternity does for many of yours. I think this will be a fun way to raise money for a good cause and hopefully make these kids Christmas memorable. Also, who doesnt love t-shirts?
