Pope Francis Positive Relations With The Jews
Pope Francis Positive Relations With The Jews
has worked in many ways to help create a positive bond between Catholics and Jews. Pope Francis and his good friend Rabbi Abraham Skorka became friends in the late 90s and published a book together in 2010 called On Heaven and Earth. The book shares their conversations on 29 topics. The two friends also have shared meals and prayed together during Sukkot and Sabbath at the Vatican. Pope Francis maybe the first Bishop of Rome to do so since St. Peter. The Pope also regularly visited local synagogues and met with rabbis, and established a permanent Holocaust memorial at Buenos Aires. Francis has positively transformed CatholicJewish relationships. http://www.ncregister.com/daily-news/pope-francis-breaking-new-ground-in-jewish-catholicrelations http://www.thejewishweek.com/editorial-opinion/opinion/meeting-pope-francis-and-tendinginterfaith-garden
