Teacher Notes
This week, the students learned how to divide numbers by 2-digit divisors using the canceling zeros method. They also worked on spooky Halloween themed word problems. In social studies, the students learned about Marco Polos voyage to China along the Silk Road. In Science, the students designed experiments with their group to complete the Flipper Investigation. In ELA, the students continued reading Holes in their novel study groups and illustrated and summarized what Camp Green Lake looks like now compared to 110 years ago. They also created their own Halloween stories about their teachers! We have such creative students! The students also looked marvelous in their Halloween costumes! We had a lot of fun at our Halloween party. Please continue practicing basic multiplication and division facts with your child at home. The students are much more likely to be successful on the topics we are currently learning in class if they know their facts fluently. On Monday, the students are allowed to wear their Bears or Packers jerseys in honor of the Bears vs. Packers game on Monday night. Please make sure you have signed up for Parent-Teacher Conferences on the Emmons website. Time slots are filling up quickly!
