States Largest Law Enforcement Association Endorses Senator Donna Campbell for Reelection SAN ANTONIO -- State Senator Donna Campbell earned the endorsement of the states largest law enforcement association. The Texas Municipal Police Association, or TMPA, endorsed Senator Campbell for reelection in Senate District 25, crediting her for working to support law enforcement officers across the state. Senator Donna Campbell has served the citizens of our state in the Texas Senate with honor and distinction, Kevin Lawrence, the Executive Director of TMPA, said. She has emerged as a leader in the Texas Legislature, a staunch defender of the Constitution and tough as nails on crime. Senator Campbell said she was incredibly grateful and proud to have the support of such a courageous group of men and women. Police officers are Texas first line of defense against increasingly dangerous crimes and situations, Senator Campbell stated. Texans depend on law enforcement every day for help and support, and I am honored that the TMPA supports my candidacy to the Texas Senate. Lawrence also praised Campbell for her assistance with the human trafficking training program for law enforcement officers. The program has helped train officers to locate and apprehend scores of criminals attempting to smuggle human cargo into and through Northeast Texas. The specialized training has helped peace officers stay one step ahead of the human traffickers at no additional costs to taxpayers. The TMPA represents over 20,000 law enforcement officers and first responders. For the past 60 years the group has worked with Judges, prosecutors and lawmakers as the voice for law enforcement in Texas. TMPA also provides training programs to police across the state at no cost to the officers. Senator Campbell faces two opponents in the Republican primary, which is scheduled for March 4, 2014. ###
