Since 1986 the College of Education has certified and placed in schools over 2500 teachers who have completed their teaching certificates. In the past several years, we have migrated all 24 teaching certificate areas to an online format. Over 100 students have already completed their certificates online. There is tremendous potential for growth and we intend to serve new students in this capacity. The company that I selected in order to apply for a job position is The University of Texas at El Paso the College of Education Advising and Recruitment Center. I can say that it is a small organization that is part of a bigger one, this one being UTEP. The College of Education ARC helps and encourages students to purse a degree in the education field; it provides plenty of opportunities in order for the students to acquire the required skills. The information provided in this website will prove valuable as you prepare to enter, and pursue your teaching career. We are committed to providing you with the assistance as well as the knowledge needed to build an effective foundation for effective teaching. Our goal is to prepare effective and certified teachers in our community and keep up with teaching standards. We look forward to working with you and meeting you during your next visit to our center. It provides a variety of services ranging for financing, testing, admission process, transfer student information, handbooks and the requirements to apply the college of education as well as to the university.

Job position and audience:

The position that Ill be applying for is the work-study position which requires clerical duties at the most (filing, answering phones, assisting students and office staff , running errands around campus, tying out degree plans). As a full time student and under financial aid I believe that I am the best fit for this position. It requires a student with a GPA higher of 2.0, full time and work-study. They will arrange their schedule according to mine. The opportunity is great and it would be good way to start making connections within the university. The audience is strictly directed to the students that meet this criteria students under financial aid and that are work-study eligible.
