BBFC and Ratings
The BBFC is an unaligned body which was initially established by the film commerce in 1912. Localized Authorities were made to blame for what was shown in cinemas and from early on accepted the conclusions of the BBFC. There are obvious advantages to both localized administration and the movie commerce in having a central but unaligned body bring consistency to the age ranking process and accept responsibility for conclusions. Localized Authorities remain lawfully to blame for what is shown in movies under the Licensing proceed 2003 and can still overrule the conclusions of the BBFC. This does not occur very often. Local Authorities add an significant component of local democracy into the classification method.
In 1985 the BBFC became the statutory authority for age rating videos under the Video Recordings precede 1984.
Our film will be likely to be rated 15+ because is may have some scenes which may not be eligible for a younger audience and some jokes or sketches may also be permitted for a younger audience.
