The first !uestion asked is who the protagonist is' the writer needs to find the central character of the film, which will bring the pest P&(. This is important to get right as it could affect the outcome of the narrative. The second !uestion asks the film maker, what is the protagonist wanting as well as what is the audience interested in to carry on watching the film. The action involved. The first step in answering this !uestion is getting your base of action by creating an incident of the films clima . )t is how to build up to that single moment via the narrative of the film that will give the whole story an interest on watching. An important !uestion which binds the two first two !uestion together is *#ho or what imposes the protagonist$+ This is getting the writer thinking about what is making the main character act in that certain way$, is he being forced to do it$ This forms antagonism, which can be made into whatever is against the protagonist this is a critical !uestion to be answered, this is what engages the audience to really connect to the dramatic narrative. )n a short film it is important to plan the amount of antagonists you fit into your short. To many over a basis of ,- minutes makes the overall feel crammed, be realistic with the time you have. .ake the antagonist clear for the viewers to identify. The key !uestion for all of the process is, * #hose point of view is the audience being shown from the story$ The audience are omnipotent position watching the events through an individual character throughout, commonly the protagonist. This !uestion is relevant to the process to e plore the scale of e position, and background information, plus characters motivation, in a small narrative space. This is useful in a short film form.
