Each person has a fear that lingers in the back of their mind. One that they hope never to face. As is the case for me. Growing up I remember making several visits to the hospital to see my grandpa. Each time for the same reason, he had experienced another heart related incident transpire. Since then, Ive always been fearful that either I or other relatives of mine will face similar heart conditions as my grandpa. Gathering resources to become more familiar with heart disease has alleviated some of my fear. While I understand that maybe Im genetically tied to this illness, Im able to reduce the likelihood of encountering incidents like my grandpa by choosing to take care of my heart at an early age.
