Members name:

Objective on which design is based:

To design a turbine that can use 6 to 8 blades and give reasonable efficiency.

Design description:
Using a suitable material we will make a paper shaft and to install turbine blades we will divide the shaft into five equal parts with a proper and equal spacing. Now we will install the blades in the partition in an adjacent order at an angle of 120 degree, i.e. leaving the first partition empty and installing blades in the second partition. Likewise leaving the third partition vacant and installing the blades in the fourth partition. Now in this way 6 blades will be installed on the shaft at an angle of 120 degree.

Specifications and Dimensions:

Number of blades=n=6 Rotor length=l=40cm Rotor thickness=t=0.2cm-0.5cm Rotor diameter=D=9cm Blade angle==29*-30*(optimum angle for impulse turbine from 15*-30*) Circumference=2r=28.27cm Depth of blades=d=1.9cm- 2.1cm Circular distance between blades=7.5cm-7.32cm Distance between collinear blades=8cm
