Caretaker Problem(s) Enumeration

Washing machine keys not returned by students always Few students don't regularly sign in register at night First year students don't enter by perm time Information about students' ill health not received by caretaker always Students sometimes don't get their rooms cleaned for more than 15 days (15 days room cleaning rule) Commute from TAPMI to their town is difficult + this amount is not reimbursed Shifts are erratic/inconsistent - sometimes morning sometimes night shift allotted Night duty is especially long for 14 hours

Housekeeping staff Problem(s) Enumeration

Less house keeping staff - more workload for 3/4 people for 5 floors Commute from TAPMI to their town is difficult + this amount is not reimbursed Not satisfied with salary Corridors get dirty soon after being cleaned for the day/during cleaning process Students demand odd hours for cleaning Cleaning gets delayed - difficult to clean such rooms

Management (Warden) Problem(s) Enumeration

Difficult to keep track of students entering hostel at night Doesnt stay in hostel to face issues when it happens ACs not installed yet in many AC rooms students have opted for Highest decision making power stay with the higher authorities. Hence, few issues which can possibly be sorted by the Warden is escalated. 2 wardens for 4 hostels (hostels likely to increase)

Washing machine usage as per slot not followed Dirty rooms - Students not in room for long hours - return to room when house keeping isn't available for cleaning Dirty rooms - Cleaning done superficially most of the times Stealth issues - not safe to keep doors simply latched, umbrellas go missing from corridors Internet doesn't work at times - weak signal in common room, etc Frequent power cuts No fire drill training for students

Students Problem(s) Enumeration

Wake up to early morning knocks on the door - warden comes with register for not having signed previous night Small rooms too small for double occupancy Room walls are damp and stinks during monsoon Bathroom window doesn't have grill to keep away snakes, etc Warm/Hot water not always available (in a few rooms) Clothes go missing when kept for drying on the corridor Car / Bike parking problems House keeping staff mostly understand only the local language

Students Problem(s) Enumeration

Clothes stink even after drying during monsoon - catches fungus AC rooms signed up for - but AC has not yet been provided (to few rooms) All washing machines don't always work Restart washing operation in machine after power cut Common room - TV doesn't always work Few water coolers don't work Only one watercooler for every floor - difficult to access Few water coolers give cold water only (normal water tap not working) Distance from hostel to academic blocks

Insufficient ropes for hanging clothes for drying No place for drying clothes - Dried clothes not removed from rope Steel cups near water coolers unhygienic Non usage of terrace to dry clothes Inappropriate disposal of old newspapers and books No space to keep used umbrella during monsoon, corridors congested No space to keep sports kits Most LAN ports in rooms do not work ACs in large rooms take time to cool the room

The rooms are such that one side on the building is cooler than the other. The west side is very hot during summers. The east side is cooler throughout the year due to the more trees outside (Hostel 2) Water leakage in top floors during monsoon Some students do not read newspapers and it lies outside their rooms for days No shoe stands. Student leave shoes outside their rooms 1 TV for more than 200 occupants Lift does not work always Caroms and TT are the only games available 1 common room not used at all
