    my heart beats dangerously

    long must love simmer


    beneath the surface?
    too long, too long,
    too long

    on furrowed brow
    beads of sweat assemble
    anticipation of futures
    contemplates

    she is near
    she is already
    nearer still
    we gaze together for eternity

    magical moments shatter


    each shard is a reflection

    arrows of hurt
    riddle through my soul
    embedding themselves in essence

    despair overwhelms
    breath falters

    a heartbeat sounds, hope is lost


    betrayal!

    my breath bleeds cold, deadness shakes


    violently!

    fading to nothingness
    collapsing!

    arms embrace me
    hope is found
    rebirth beckons,

    I follow
