Situation
Event: 4th Annual Classics Symposium
A conference for Professors, PhD, Masters and undergraduate students to present papers on the Classical theme.

Problems on the day of the event: Venue was double booked Program had not been printed Venue did not support the

Action
Although the problems were not my responsibility, I took charge:
I Spoke with the manager I Quickly printed the programs at Staples I bought a stand-up projector

Results
The room was given to us and the event was successful Programs did not arrive until lunch Power Point presentations worked The breaks were extended I gained experience from the mistakes: the following year, when I was in charge, there were less problems.

Situation
Guelph Classical Society A student run organization for academic and social events $1000 in debt from previous year Money needed for annual symposium and other

Action
3 bake sales a semester, we raised an average of $250 at each one Applied and was granted a Bursary for $500 from College of Arts Student Union (CASU) Organized Cheaper Events

Results

The Annual Symposium had the best turnout in 4 years The GCS held more events than any other year $500 was left in the bank for the following year My hard work was recognized as I was awarded the CASU Book Prize for Outstanding Academic Achievement

Situation
An all-inclusive trip to Turkey and Greece Run by myself and my friend Fiona Anthes. Students paid for themselves and experienced travel as they were interested in the history of Greece and Turkey.

Action
I organized 2 information sessions for students I advertised the trip in classrooms and posters, our marketing was geared towards history, art history and classics students I got quotes from travel agent I got quotes from tour

Results
Went on a 2 week trip to Greece and Turkey with a cruise through Contiki Group of 7 people History/Art History and Classics students experienced their area of study Made memories that would last a lifetime
