Book Review By: Nicolas Pedersen

What if you had to leave your home, family, and where you were baptized? Well this happened to Julian Escobar. This book is by Scott ODell. The book is The Captive. This book is interesting because Julian doesnt even know where this trip is going to take him. The setting is appealing because he goes to many places trying to teach people Gods ways in the sixth century. Julian is a kind, giving, and religious man. Don Louis is cruel, harsh, and brave. Balaster Gusman is cruel and harsh too. Ceela is kind and thoughtful. Julian tries to teach the people that he meets Gods ways, Don Luis wants gold, Balastar Gusman wants gold too, and Ceela wants to tame Bravo the horse. Julian does not teach anybody Gods ways. Don Luis gets gold. Balastar Gusman gets gold. Ceela does tame Bravo. But not everything works out after they get their gold. The book was a great book and I would recommend it. This was supposed to teach you a lesson 1 dont give into greed and let people think what they want to think of there God or Gods. Sincerely, Nicolas Pedersen
