    Character Word:
    Patience - Putting up with problems or delays without getting upset

    A Peek at Our Week:


    Reading: We will be reviewing characters, setting, and events. The students will need to describe the above story elements by using illustrations and words in a text. Math: We will begin a new unit on fractions. We will learn about halves and fourths. Writing: We will continue mastering how to write an opinion paragraph. Science/Social Studies: We will be learning about goods and services.

    Reminders:
    If you would like to receive classroom news text messages, please text the code @b1e7b to 864-349-5032. Please do not send cough drops to school with students. Cough drops should be sent to the nurse with written permission from the parent. Please label your childs coats and jackets. They get lost easily at school. Your child brought his/her Edmodo log in information home last quarter. If you need a username reminder, please let me know.

    Sound Check:

    We will begin learning about the long E sound. We will learn how to read words with e_e (Steve, Pete), ea (beach, eat), and ee (tree, three). We will also be learning how to read comparative endings in words like faster and fastest.

    Sight Words and Family Words: Sight words:


    fish, but, bike, put, bad (all of the these words will be on the spelling test)

    Homework Help:
    This week, students will use technology to communicate their learning. If you have access to the Internet at home, have your child log in to edmodo.com and click on Mrs. Phillips Class on the left hand side. You will see a post there with instructions for your student. If you do not have access to the Internet, visit your local library to use a computer for free.

    bee, flee, glee, see, tree, free, knee, tee, agree (5 of these words will be on the spelling test)

    No Good News Club on Dec. 10, Dec. 17, or Jan. 7. Beginning January 14, Good News Club will meet at EWE from 2:30-4:00 pm. Parents will need to pick their children up from the back car circle at 4:00 pm.
