Thometz: Currently I am on the verge of obtaining my Associates degree from Moraine Valley Community College and am seeking an internship with The Lockport Legend. I was very impressed with the presentation that was given by you on October 13, 2013 at Moraine Valley Community College. First of all I would like to express that I found that your presentation was very interesting and full of information about journalism, and about The Lockport Legend. Furthermore I was very ecstatic when you mentioned the opportunities that The Lockport Legend has in their internship department. After receiving information from you about The Lockport Legends Internship program as well as conducting my own research I confirmed my interest in your company. I believe my skills and experience make me a great match for your internship program. The expertise that I have gained through my educational studies provides, what I believe to be, the qualifications necessary to be an adequate intern for The Lockport Legend. The courses I have taken have required me to undertake various ways of writing in order to create articles with numerous types of topics. With classes such as Communications, and The Students Publication Seminar, I have been able to adapt to various kinds of readers as well as use research to clarify explanations and support arguments in my writing. Furthermore this past year I received the opportunity to write for The Moraine Valley Glacier, a school newspaper at Moraine Valley Community College. This experience has given me the opportunity to familiarize myself with journalistic duties such as interviewing, as well as the freedom to write various kinds of articles such as editorials, interviews, and reviews for albums, for different columns in a published newspaper. In conclusion I would like to again express my enthusiasm and sincere wish to pursue an Internship with The Lockport Legend. The opportunity to gain more knowledge and hands on experience in the world of journalism trough The Lockport Legend is exciting to say the least.
