o City of Alexandria Sustainability Initiatives – Robert Whiting,

Global Green

o City of New Orleans Green Schools Ordinance – Linda Stone,

Global Green

o State Green Building Bill – Charlie Chartier

 Education of Special Interest Groups needed: Chemical,
Vinyl, Forestry Associations, plus Office of Facility
Planning & Control

o Note on assistance from legislator & USGBC – Linda Stone

4. Identifying other possible avenues of advocacy

o Look at possible statewide Executive Order and/or Green

Code (like that just passed in California)

o Research ways to fund green schools, i.e. include incentives

for green schools in green building bill, or look at special
taxing districts or bonds

o See how we can assist Northshore in their greening efforts

o Suggestions from Committee Members
