I. OBJECTIVE:

 To be able to perform a multivibrator circuit.

 To know how Bi-stable Multivibrator works.

II. MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT:

 Breadboard
 Resistors (1KΩ, 10KΩ)
 Capacitors (0.1µF)
 Transistors (2N3904)
 Power supply
 LED
 Connecting wires

III. PROCEDURE:

1. Prepare the materials and equipment needed in the experiment.

2. Construct the circuit of bi- stable multivibrator.
3. Supply triggers 1 and trigger 2 by +Vcc alternately.

VI. DISCUSSION

Bi-Stable Multivibrator is type of Multivibrator that has two stable states and
no quasi-stable state. Multivibrators is a relaxation oscillator in which, the in-
phase feedback is obtained from two transistors or any active device. Typically,
their outputs are coupled through resistive-capacitive elements so that one is cut-
off when the other is conducting. Bi-Stable Multivibrator is classified as a driven,
because it requires external driving or triggering to start its operation and maintain
it. It has two stable states that will not change unless the circuit is disturbed. As I
observed, led 1 is initially turned on, it only change unless the trigger is supplied
by +Vcc.

VII. CONCLUSION

Therefore, Bi-Stable Multivibrator is function not simultaneously, when one is

cut-off the other is conducting. The state of this multivibrator will only change
when the circuit is disturbed or when the trigger is supplied by +Vcc.
