WCDB
It provides UMG resource management, outgoing trunk selection, and WVDB distribution agent management (MSRN number allocation, WVDB maintenance command forwarding) functions. The WCDB contains global data which can be accessed by all WCCUs/WCSUs and WVDBs. Because the WCDB is an accessed center, its load is relatively large. In small-capacity configuration mode, its functions can be implemented by one pair of WCDBs. In a large-capacity configuration mode, different functions must be distributed to different WCDBs.
Page 39
WVDB
The VLR Database Board (WVDB) is a front board used to store the subscription data of mobile subscribers. In a large-capacity application, multiple pairs of WVDBs are required to store the subscription data. The subscription information of one subscriber is stored in the same pair of WVDBs. The principles for distributing subscriber data on different WVDBs have been described in the Section about WCDB (also named WVDB distribution agent function). Such distribution is transparent for the WCCU/WCSU service layer.
Page 40
WMGC
WMGC provides gateway registration, internal link status maintenance, gateway status and capability auditing, and gateway exception handling functions.
Page 41

WALU&UPWR
The Alarm Unit (WALU) is a front board installed fixedly in slot 16 in each MSC SERVER UNIT frame. Its functions are as follows:
Acting as a slave node, communicating with the master node (WSMU) through serial port bus, and controlling indicator under the instructions of the WSMU.
UPWR
It is used to provide power supply to the boards in the MSC SERVER UNIT frames. The UPWR works in 2+2 backup mode.
