Input and Input Devices


An input device is a device that can be used to insert data into a computer or other computational device

Keyboards, Pointing devices, Scanning, Image Capturing, and Audio-Input Devices

Output and Output Devices


Output devices are used to retrieve information from a computer to another device.

Different Types of Monitors and Printers


Monitor types differ depending on quality of pixels (dots that form the clearness color scheme). CRT were the first generation and they used beams to project onto glass. LCD became more compact and were a lighter version of the CRTs. LEDs are the newer generation and is even more compact and contain more pixels for a better picture quality.

Combination Input and Output devices


Input/output devices are devices that perform functions that can pass in or out of the computer.

Primary Storage and Secondary Storage



Primary storage is used for short term purposes. Examples of this would be RAM and your cache memory. Secondary Storage can not be accessed through a computer automatically.

Optical Discs vs Solid-State Drives



An optical disc is a plastic coated disc with the information etched around the center. The main difference of a solid state drive is that it is a high-performance plug-and-playstorage device that contains no moving parts.

Cloud Computing and Cloud Storage

Cloud storage is "the storage of data online in the cloud," wherein a company's data is stored in and accessible from multiple distributed and connected resources that comprise a cloud. www.webopedia.com Cloud Computing is the practice of storing regularly used computer data on multiple servers that can be accessed through the Internet
