RONALD CDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES LAUNCHES $1 MILLION FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN FOR A HOUSE IN BOONE, NC BOONE, NC/March 28, 2013The Ronald McDonald House Charities will launch a $1 million fundraising campaign between March 1, 2013 and Dec. 21, 2013 for a house in Boone that will host as many as 10 families at a time. Singer/songwriter, Adele, has agreed to serve as a spokesperson to help raise money for the campaign. Additionally, Appalachian State University will donate $100,000 to jumpstart the fundraising efforts. When I heard the exciting news about the new house Ronald McDonald House Charities is building for the Boone, I was more than happy to jumpstart the fundraising process, said Appalachian State University Chancellor Ken Peacock. I am excited to see what this house has to offer to the our community.

I am thrilled to support such an incredible campaign for the Boone community. The 7,000-square-foot house will be built in Boone; however, an exact location has not been determined. It will cost approximately $750,000 to build and will be furnished with the remainder of the money raised.
