Choose Communications As A Major

Why should I choose Communication as my major? The Comm department at Virginia Tech develops and improves understanding of communication methods and their effects on individuals/society. You can choose a track in either public relations, multimedia journalism, or communication studies. What are some classes I would take if I chose to major in Comm? It is required that Comm majors take Comm Studies,Visual Media, Media Writing, and Introduction to Comm Research as prerequisites for upper level courses. Once you choose a specific track, your classes will be narrowed down to a particular subject. Study Abroad Opportunity There is a study abroad program that travels to Switzerland at the Center for European Studies and Architecture. The program includes a one-credit course during the spring semester to plan the trip, a two week study at CESA with the possibilty to travel before, during and aftter those two weeks, and finally the completetion of the course during Summer 1.
