Week 10

Posted by Charlene Sanders on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 10:32:24 PM EST 11/25/13 This was a rough week! So much has been going on in the agency and it is hard to keep for spiraling into a panic mode. This week the center gave the families a Thanksgiving celebration/luncheon. The celebrations were held separately at the two locations. I was located at the Denton site. During these gatherings it can be very chaotic because the children are under the age of 3 and it is difficult to engage them very long in such a large group. We had a puppet show, child/parent activities and lunch. Afterwards, we had to reorganize and sanitize the center.

I believe the parents left very pleased. The local library provided them with a gift pack of childrens books. The center had prizes and socialization occurred between the families. It was important as an administrator to be calm for both staff and participants during this heavily attended event. If an administrator becomes outwardly flustered, the team becomes unglued and the participants feel unwelcomed. What a week!!!
