Carle, Eric. Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?

This is my all-time favorite book! I love and it is a great book to read to children. It starts by saying Brown Bear, Brown Bear what do you see? The book asks each animal what color animal they see until they finally see a teacher. This book is helpful because it introduces animals and colors and it has colorful illustrations.

Freeman, Dan. Corduroy


Corduroy lived in a toy store and all he wanted was a friend to help him find his button. This book is great for children because they can relate to the girl in the story. The girl wanted Corduroy and she was finally able to get him. This book also talks about friendship. I think that friendship is a good topic to talk to children about.

Rosen, Michael. Were Going on a Bear Hunt


A family goes on a bear hunt and they are not scared. Children will love this book. This book has repetition, the children will engage in the book and they will find the book exciting when they family is trying to catch a big bear.

Degen, Bruce. Jamberry


The children will find it interesting to find out the different types of berrys. This book also has a lot of rhyming so I think that the children will engage after reading the book several times. Most important they will know where do different types of berrys come from.

Wilson, Karma., Chapman, Jane. Bear Snores On


The bear does not wake up even if his friends are having a party. When he finally wakes up he is upset because they had a party without him. The bears friends made the party again. This book introduces animals and children can also learn that a bear hibernates during the winter.

Wilson, Karma., Chapman, Jane. Bear Wants More


After waking up from a very long sleep the bear wakes up very hungry. The bear want more and more food. This book is great for children, the children will learn about hibernating. It also introduces animals and the book has repetition.

Waddell, Martin., Firth, Barbara. Cant You Sleep Little Bear?


Little bear is scared of the dark. I think this is a great book to read to children because they can relate to the little bear. Many children are scared of the dark and they sleep with a night light. Children will enjoy reading this book.

Murphy, Jill. Whatever Next!


Baby Bear wants to go to the moon but mom says he needs a rocket. This book is great because it brings imagination to the children and they will want to act out the story. The book also introduces new vocabulary.

Alborough, Jez. Wheres My Teddy


Eddy went to look for his Teddy Freddy. This book is great because it introduces sizes (small, big, gigantic) and it rhymes so it is funny to read. The book also talks about emotions.

Inkpen, Mick. Threadbear


This book is really adventurous. The childrenwill relate and engage when reading the book. The book has colorful illustrations and it is simple to read.

Cooper, Helen. The Bear Under The Stairs


There is a bear under the stairs and the poor boy is scared. Children will engage in the book and I think it is great to discuss after reading the book. The children in the classroom can talk and share with each other their fears they have.

Wright, Maureen., Hillenbrand Will. Sleep,Big Bear, Sleep!


It is time for the big bear to sleep, he did not understand so before going to sleep he does several things. I found this book funny and I believe the children will enjoy it. The book has understanding illustrations and it starts talking about a bear hibernating in the winter.

Stevens, Janet. Tops and Bottoms


The poor lazy bear was being tricked. I had the opportunity to read this book to a preschool classroom and the children found the book very humorous. They knew the story by looking at the illustrations. They also engaged in talking about the book after story time.

Wood, Don., Wood, Audrey, The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear
The little mouse and the big hungry bear want a red ripe strawberry. This book is good to read during circle time because it talks about sharing. A lot of preschool children have difficulties sharing so I think this book gives a great example on sharing.

Mack, Jeff. Hush Little Polar Bear


Little polar bear goes to sleep and in his sleep he goes on many adventures. Children enjoy adventures so they will relate to the little polar bear. This is a good book to act out and also make it into a different story using the childrens imagination.

Foley, Greg. Dont Worry Bear


After reading this book I recommend this book to teachers to read to children. This book introduces a caterpillar going to his cocoon and after a while it becomes a butterfly but during the poor bear is worried about the caterpillar. This book is simple and easy to understand.
