Fair-play

What does this word mean ? For a lot of people its just a thing that has to show up in any game or competition, just for the eyes of the public. But fair-play means more than that. Its a form of respect for your opponent, respect that you show for his determination that made you also play that game. Fair-play means respecting the rules, playing just for the idea of the game, not for winning by any means at your disposal. Its when you treat you opponent as a friend, and not as an enemy. But in our days, fair-play its just something you show just to be in the good eyes of the referees or your fans. The idea of wining is overcoming any wish of respect for the opponents. But this isnt such a wonder. Men have the desire of being the alpha males , the winners, in their blood and DNA. From the day we are born we wish to win and impress the women. So why was the fair-play invented in the first place ? Its unknown but it was 100% not invented by a true man. Im not saying the idea of it isnt good, because its very good. But how can a set of rules surpress the genetical way in which we were built ? Fair-play in his essence, was invented for the joy of the game, to make it more playable and more fun. Players are trying to trick the rules by any means they can, and sometimes they succeed, and sometimes they dont. Welcome...to the game! Elev: Pop Sergiu Alexandru Clasa: XII-a Informatica
