I believe that my experience as a student teacher in the Teach North Texas program and bachelors degree in biology from the University of North Texas qualifies me for this position. My education has given me a strong background in science and education. For my seniorlevel education course, I was a student teacher in a high school biology class where I wrote my own inquiry-based lesson plans and performed lab activities with students. My time in the program has taught me how to write lesson plans for labs, lead hands-on activities, manage time, and direct classroom behavior. I believe that my major in biology with a minor in chemistry and secondary education has thoroughly prepared me for a career in the life-sciences. My experience in the Teach North Texas program has thoroughly prepared me throughout my undergraduate career for work in the classroom. I began as a pre-service teacher the fall of my freshman year and concluded the first year of the program teaching inquiry-based science lessons to elementary and middle school students.
