Jennah Jones ENG-111 Bio-Profile I am 19 years old, born March 28th, 1994.

I have lived in Virginia Beach almost all my life, only briefly living in Tampa and New Orleans when I was much younger. My only sibling is my sister, just a year older than I. Starting from kindergarten, I have only attended private school and also attended a college preparatory high school. I think the schools I went to have affected my writing and learning styles, as there was a great emphasis on writing and there were strict guidelines we had to meet. My learning styles are strongly independent, pragmatic, and spatial; meaning that I prefer working by myself, using a step by step process to learn, and learn more effectively by using drawings and diagrams to visualize how things work. I assume that I learn better in these ways because that was what was more enforced where I attended school. More often than not we were writing 3 to 5 page research papers, essays analyzing the story arcs of noverls, or papers incorporating historical analysis. I feel much more comfortable using an analytical approach to writing, apart from just being used to it, it is a writing style I have had much success with in terms of grades. For example, there was a time when I was trying to get into an honors world history class. Part of the exam I had to take involved writing an essay comparing two historical events. The essay I had written actually turned out so well that I was put into the advanced placement class instead of only honors, which definitely affected me in terms of confidence with analytical writing.
