    Delta Gamma Foundation began its philanthropic efforts to prevent blindness in 1963 through its Service for Sight program.     Joining Forces

    Not only to Delta Gamma, but to everyone, vision


    is one of our most precious senses. Delta Gamma
    began its philanthropic process to stop blindness
    before it starts in 1963.
    Service for Sight: Joining Forces is an adjunct to
    Delta Gamma Service for Sight. It is a committed
    program to to aide members in all branches of the
    military who have injuries Service for Sight: Join-
    ing Forces is committed to creating a program to
    aid service members in all branches of the military
    who have injuries resulting in vision loss, Service
    for Sight: Joining Forces is an adjunct to the exist-
    ing Delta Gamma Service for Sight philanthropy.

    Delta Gamma has begun four schools for the
    visually impaired
    Grants to these four schools and 51 organiza-
    tions have totaled $3.15 million since its the
    foundations beginning in 1951.
    In the past twenty years, 1.5 million hours
    have been recorded by collegians and alumnae
    for Service for Sight.

    Lions Club, International has been collecting
    eyeglasses for 70 years.
    There are 11 licensed Lions Club eyeglasses
    recycling centers around the world.
