1) Repetition: this floor plan has many examples of repetition, including ceiling
beams, arched doorways, and the same blue drapes on every window.
2) Radiation: The common area seating radiates around the dark coffee table, as
well as the dining chairs around the dining table.
3) Gradation: this room has many examples of gradation, from the varying sizes of
candlesticks to the different hues of brown in the flooring, furniture, and textiles
in the common area.
4) Transition: the lines in the room lead the eye to the back rooms. The beams in
the ceiling, the chandeliers, the placement of doorways, and placement of
furniture all create a visual line for the eye to follow.
5) Opposition: Orange and blue are opposites on the color wheel. The orange
seating pads in the dining area contrasts the soft blue of the curtains throughout
the floor layout.
