[Hairdressing] WE LEARNT HOW TO SERVE On 12th November 2013, 13 skillful students of the hairdressing class participated in the Community

Serving Day which was organized every year by the Hairdressing Class of Thang Long School funded by SCC. Around 50 customers who were children, elderly people, women and men from the poor community of Ward 14, District 8 came to the event to be served with hair making, manicure, and pedicure. The event received full support from the local authority who provided spacious and comfortable area; who also informed local people loudly on the loudspeaker about the event.

Another Serving Day was organized in Tan Phu District; a coming one will be in Can Gio Commune in December. Serving people in poor areas is an integral part of the learning programme of students in the Hairdressing Class.

[Art] A three day trip to Phan Thiet was organized as a present for 12 students of Art Class who made great efforts in learning in a long period of time. Through the trip, the students had good opportunities to create drawing products by using the techniques they have learnt; they could also observe and experience new things in life surround them.

Creating opportunities for young people to develop their talent and to enjoy recreational activities is one of the important parts of SCCs services which are provided to disadvantaged children and young people. This not only helps them to develop their talent but also bring back their childhood which seemed to be stolen in their difficult life.

This support has also brought greater result which was more than expected: two young people passed the entrance exam to San Khau Dien Anh College where they could learn and turn their talent into jobs in the future.
